About
From the start of the pandemic in 2020 when we were in lock-down, I decided to send out a daily devotion, except on weekends, via WhatsApp and Facebook to our members. Soon it was distributed more widely on the Net. After a year, I asked some members of staff and a few other lay folk to assist with this endeavour as we moved beyond lock-down.
As with our sermons, the devotions cover a wide variety of topics, some as one-off episodes, others as parts of a mini-series.
Our prayer is that God will use this channel to meet you where you are in your own faith journey. May it help you to grow in your relationship with Christ and become a more effective disciple.
God bless you,
Pastor Graeme

[Author: Graeme Mercer] Philippians is just filled with well-known verses like, “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (1:6), “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain” (1:21), and “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (4:13) and so many more. Paul provides a portrait of Jesus Christ as a humble servant and this is really at the heart of Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Having established this church around 52 AD, Paul has genuine joy for their progress in Christ and it is this same joy he wanted the recipients to possess. Life is to be enjoyed, not endured. So Paul addresses this community of believers and urges them to live in harmony with one another through mutual humility as demonstrated by Jesus. He describes how we can be truly contented in Christ. His letter describes, how, with Christ at the center, we can truly live with joy.
